What is natural sea sponge?
Natural, soft, elastic and absorbent sponges are the organic collagen skeleton of marine animals of the Porifera group (Phylum Porifera), a name that comes from the Latin porus and ferre and means “bearers of pores”. Seen in water they are very very similar to coral.
They are raised in the sea, at a depth of about 40 metres.
The best known and most appreciated is the Mediterranean sponge Spongia Officinalis, whose cosmetic use has been documented since the 4th century BC. The marine sponges of the Caribbean are also good quality sponges.
Properties in skin care
Do you think that because it is natural it wears out more? No! Natural sponges are stronger and more durable than plastic ones!

Another feature is that it provides a light and delicate peeling , dead skin cells are gently removed!
Their passage stimulates blood circulation, this has a draining and firming effect!
Natural sponges are so soft and delicate that they can even be used on the face , as long as the skin is not inflamed, and are also good for removing makeup and cleansing.
Natural Sea Sponge Care
After each use, remember to rinse the sponge thoroughly and let it air dry completely to prevent bacteria from accumulating and proliferating.
Being natural, their color varies over time.
To restart the color pour a spoonful of baking soda into a bowl of hot water, no more than 50°, and immerse the sponge and then wring it out and re-immerse a couple of times then the sponge and wring out a couple of times, then leave it to soak for about 15 minutes.
Once soaked, rinse thoroughly under running water and let it air dry.
