Body brushing to reshape the silhouette
Is your goal to combat annoying skin blemishes, such as orange peel skin and water retention, and perhaps purify your skin from dead cells and impurities?
Dry brushing is your ally! In just 5 minutes it stimulates blood microcirculation and lymphatic drainage of excess fluids.
What is body brushing?
In Dry Body Brushing you massage your entire body, starting from the soles of your feet, with a brush made of rough vegetable bristles. Although at first glance it may seem like a rude gesture, it is not, it is an ecological and also economical way to take care of your body and it will also give you a real boost of energy!
It is also called Kneipp brushing or brushing Kneipp, from the name of the abbot Kneipp, who brought it to prominence, but it is a very ancient practice, from Cleopatra to Ancient Japan.
Ideal as a self-massage, dry brushing involves slow, circular movements from bottom to top with firm pressure that stimulates microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, responsible for eliminating toxins from our body.
The benefits
Gentle exfoliation: Eliminates dead surface cells, promoting cell renewal and giving the skin a brighter and more uniform appearance.
Stimulates circulation : The energetic massage activates blood and lymphatic circulation, improving tissue oxygenation and fighting water retention. Good circulation activates metabolism , essential in reshaping and anti-cellulite programs.
Reduces cellulite : The draining action helps reduce the appearance of cellulite and tone the skin. Thousands of capillaries branch out into our skin and through the dry brushing technique they are stimulated to function optimally for the elimination of toxins .
Promotes product absorption: By exfoliating the skin, it is prepared to optimally absorb moisturizing creams and oils.
Relaxes and de-stresses : Massage induces a feeling of well-being and relaxation, helping to combat stress and anxiety.
How to do Dry body brushing
Choose a natural bristle brush and perform dry brushing on dry skin, preferably in the morning before showering or in the evening before going to bed.
Spend about 5-10 minutes brushing, focusing more on problem areas. Remember that the sensation must be pleasant, brush the same area several times, one pass is not enough.
- Start from the feet, massage both the back and the soles, then move up the legs with large, fluid movements.
- Once you have massaged your legs, it's time to massage your buttocks and back, using circular movements.
- Proceed with a massage on the arms, starting from the hands and moving towards the shoulders.
- Now very delicately treat the frontal area, belly and bust.
- Massage the breast area with particular delicacy.
- After brushing, take a warm shower and moisturize your skin with a moisturizing oil or cream.
- Conclude your treatment with a body cream. The ideal would be a complete treatment with a hydrating, firming, anti-cellulite, draining and reducing action, such as the Remodeling Body Cream by Yuniwa . After dry body brushing the skin is even more receptive to subsequent treatments, take advantage of it!
Start with 2-3 times a week, gradually increasing the frequency as your skin tolerates. If you experience pain or discomfort, reduce the frequency or pressure of the massage. Do not use on irritated or broken skin.
Clean the brush regularly with warm water and neutral soap after each use.
