What is solid shampoo and how do you use it?

Find out with us why you should choose a solid shampoo! We anticipate that it is ecological and economical, but not only that!

What is solid shampoo?

Solid shampoo is being chosen by more and more eco-conscious people, like us!

We can finally say goodbye to plastic bottles and waste accumulation and have for ourselves a suitable product specifically formulated with specific ingredients and active ingredients for cleansing and hair care !

A solid shampoo is a shampoo in all respects , it cleans perfectly and has a compact formula that allows it to be super long-lasting: approximately 250 grams of solid shampoo allow you to wash your hair a good 80 times!

Your wallet, the environment, your hair will thank you!

How is the eco-biological and natural solid shampoo formulated?

An eco-biological solid shampoo , it is formulated with surfactants derived from coconut oil, or other natural and biodegradable vegetable oils, which give it a pH suitable for cleansing the hair.

The formula always contains vegetable oils and butters that nourish the hair and essential oils , specific for the hair type!

A solid shampoo is part of what is anhydrous cosmetics , that is, formulated without water which also avoids the use of preservatives because mold and bacteria proliferate in humid environments, but since there is no water they are not necessary!

What are the differences between a solid shampoo and a bar of soap?

A shampoo, whether solid or liquid, is a cosmetic formulated to have suitable performance for the hair and scalp, with surfactants and active ingredients, as well as specific pH. It does not require acid rinsing. Our hair and scalp have a slightly acidic pH 5/5.5 and a shampoo must have a pH that is close to that value.

Solid soap, on the other hand, has an alkaline pH and oils are added to the formula to reduce the tangled effect of brambles on the head!

To distinguish a real solid shampoo from any soap bar, it is important to learn to read the ingredients contained in the product (i.e. the INCI on the label), which by law must be reported. If there is no INCI, required by law, then take the cosmetic and throw it away!

A bar of soap can be recognized because in the INCI you will find one or all of these ingredients:

  • Sodium Hydroxide , followed or preceded by a lipid, oil or butter, e.g. Cocos Nucifera Oil, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil.
  • Or you will find Sodium Palmate , Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Cocoate or a Sodium followed by the name of the oil or butter.

Solid shampoo for every hair type!

If until recently solid shampoos only stated "shampoo" on the label, in recent years with the advancement of collective awareness regarding the environment, the demand, and therefore the offer, have expanded greatly!

So we find solid shampoos suitable for all hair types ! From dry to greasy hair, from anti-dandruff solid shampoos to anti-hair loss solid shampoos!

Here are some we love!

How do you use solid shampoo?

Solid shampoo always raises many doubts but in reality it is used exactly like a liquid shampoo and will have the same effect on the hair, as long as you do not use a bar of soap!

As with all shampoos, you will have to find the one that best suits you!

To apply it, simply wet your hair . Instead of squeezing the bottle of liquid shampoo into your hand, rub the soap between your wet hands to create foam. Apply the resulting foam by massaging your scalp and lengths .

Our advice is not to apply the soap directly to your hair because you won't realize how much shampoo you're actually using.

Rinse well and apply conditioner , solid of course!

How do you store solid shampoo?

On a nice soap dish or net where it can drip! The only precaution you need to take with a solid shampoo is not to leave it wet for too long.
