Facial Boosters: What They Are and How to Use Them Best

Facial boosters are special, highly concentrated skincare treatments.
Each booster contains a specific active ingredient or mix of ingredients in concentrations that are usually higher than those you normally find in serums and creams.

Facial boosters allow you to adapt your skincare to the needs of your skin , which may be different from day to day or based on the different areas of your face. For example, if you have dry skin in some areas of your face and oily in others , you can customize your routine by using hydrating and purifying facial boosters on the different areas.

How to match facial boosters

Once you have chosen the facial booster that best suits your needs, you can use it:

  • pure on cleansed and toned skin;
  • in addition to your serum or cream.

As with all skincare products, the order in which you apply the products is important. Even with boosters, you need to take the texture of the product into account : apply the lighter, water-based products first, followed by the more full-bodied products containing oils.

In addition to this simple rule, the pH of the cosmetic should also be taken into account: we should apply products with a more acidic pH first and then products with a pH more similar to that of the skin.
It is not always possible to know the pH of a product, but we can follow a general rule based on the ingredients:

  • products containing AHA (glycolic, mandelic, lactic acid), BHA (salicylic acid) and vitamin C have a generally acidic pH and should therefore be applied first;
  • Products containing Niacinamide and Retinol have a more neutral pH and should therefore be applied last.

Also be careful not to put products with very different pHs one after the other, for example first a facial booster with glycolic acid and then one with niacinamide because the skin could become sensitive and irritated. In these cases, the best solution is to use them in separate routines, for example one in the morning and one in the evening.

Which facial boosters should you use to prevent wrinkles?

If you have young skin and want to keep it hydrated to combat dryness, first wrinkles and fine lines on your face, the perfect combo for you is Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C:

  • multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid keeps skin hydrated and works on multiple levels to plump and combat dryness;

  • Vitamin C brightens skin and helps protect it from the damage of oxidative stress that causes premature skin aging.

You can use these boosters together in the morning and evening or you can alternate them if you prefer.

Which facial boosters to use for skin blemishes?

If you have noticed spots on your skin that you want to minimize and want to prevent the formation of other spots, the perfect active ingredients for you are Phytoretinol and Antiox Booster:

  • Phytoretinol is the safe and well-tolerated plant-based alternative to vitamin A. It has a regenerating action on the skin, stimulates its renewal and is therefore useful for combating skin blemishes;

  • Antiox Booster is a super-antioxidant treatment based on Ferulic Acid and Resveratrol that counteract the action of free radicals and protect against the damage of photoaging

You can use these boosters together in the morning and evening or you can alternate them if you prefer.

Which facial boosters to use for impure skin?

Boosters are perfect for impure skin, especially in the case of combination skin: you can use specific active ingredients only on the areas to be purified without running the risk of drying out the skin. If your skin is prone to imperfections, the right routine for you is composed of Fitoretinol and a Zinc + Niacinamide booster:

  • Phytoretinol regenerates the skin and is therefore excellent for stimulating skin renewal;

  • Zinc+Niacinamide is an active ingredient with sebum-balancing action that keeps shine, dilated pores and imperfections at bay.

You can use these boosters together in the morning and evening or you can alternate them if you prefer.

Which facial boosters should I use for dry, sensitive skin with redness?

If your skin tends to dry out, become red and flaky, your perfect combo is the one made up of Hydra Booster + Probiotic Booster:

  • Hydra Booster is a serum with a super hydrating, soothing and smoothing action. Thanks to Amino Acids , Vitamin B5 , Natural Hydration Factor , Brewer's Yeast Extracts , it deeply hydrates, stimulates collagen production, encourages natural defenses, improving the texture and firmness of the skin.

  • Probiotic Booster is a product with a soothing, protective, repairing action perfect for stressed skin. Thanks to bisabolol, vitamin E and probiotics, it is able to keep redness, irritation, sensitive skin at bay, restoring the health and balance of the skin microbiota, which helps the skin defend itself from external aggressions.

You can use these boosters together in the morning and evening or you can alternate them if you prefer.

Which facial boosters to use for mature skin?

To combat wrinkles and restore skin elasticity, the perfect routine is composed of different active ingredients that work in synergy. I recommend that you diversify your morning and evening routines, so that you can have a complete treatment to combat the various signs of skin aging.

Morning skincare

  • Caffeine Booster with revitalizing, draining and stimulating action, suitable for all skin types. Use it on the eye contour to lighten dark circles and reduce bags.

  • Collagen plumps the skin, thanks to its lifting, plumping and smoothing action. An extra tip: you can dab a drop of collagen directly into the wrinkle, to relax and smooth it.

  • Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C to hydrate and prevent oxidative stress.

Evening skincare

  • Caffeine Booster with revitalizing, draining and stimulating action, suitable for all skin types. Use it on the eye contour to lighten dark circles and reduce bags.
  • Hydra booster and Antiox booster to deeply hydrate the skin and repair it from damage caused by smog, UV rays and environmental stress.
