Amla is an Indian tree plant , its name on the identity card is Emblica Officinalis. It grows in all tropical and subtropical areas of Southeast Asia.
Its small spherical fruits, also called Indian gooseberry, are sour and have a translucent yellow-green or pinkish appearance.
These tiny but very powerful fruits are an important pillar of traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda, which calls Amla “Amalaki” . It has also long been used in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine .
The active ingredients of Amla
Small fruits that contain a very high quantity of polyphenols, minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin C.
The super antioxidant power of this plant is given by its very high content of the latter!
Among the most powerful active ingredients in the phytocomplex are tannins - emblicanin A and emblicanin B, punigluconin and pedunculagin, and the valuable gallic acid and ellagic acid. It also contains almost all the B vitamins, iron and manganese.
The cosmetic properties of Amla
A small jewel from a cosmetic point of view , amla is precious for skin and hair care. The combination of its active ingredients corresponds to a wonderful antioxidant property and an anti-aging action.
